>Padded Leather Stepstool

>Hi Everyone!

Here is my first finished project from yesterday’s sneaky peeks. This one was fun to do and I love how it turned out!

Remember this one?

I began this one by staining the legs and bottom a dark brown.

Just brush on the stain and wipe off after 15 minutes.

I chose leather for the covered top. The leather is from my boyfriend’s old leather sofa. When we got rid of the old sofa I first stripped all of the usable leather from it. I chose a piece that wasn’t too worn out and without any seams going through it.

I padded the stool with a bit of polyfill and stapled the leather to the bottom edge of the stool.
This is the turtleneck from a wool sweater.

I thought this needed some trim to cover the staples on the bottom. I thought that red wool would be festive and masculine enough for a little boy’s stool. And, the cloth was available 😉

The wool was hotglued into place.

Looks cushy, doesn’t it?

Hey bloggers, if you haven’t already, be sure to join my Comes From the Heart Linky Party. This is open until December 26th.
