Who watches TLC’s Sister Wives? It is about one man, Kody Brown, who married four wives, Meri, Janelle, Christine and Robyn, and they together have thirteen kids (not going there with the names).
|Kody Brown and the Sister Wives.|
Tonight’s episode showed the media parked outside the home of the Brown family, pointing their camera at the home and a reporter knocking at the door. There is a police investigation going on regarding their plural marriage and the wives are having to create a diversion to distract the media while the kids’ school bus dropped the older children off. I have gotta believe that Kody and his harem knew that his family would gain this type of attention once they invited the cameras into their home. Of course this makes good TV and I would be surprised if the family is truly shocked by the police and media attention.
I really don’t have a problem with plural marriage. In fact, I think that this is brilliant in theory. Hello?!? Instant babysitter with a sister wife! Just send the kids over to the sister mama when you need a few minutes to yourself. Split housework? Here! Maybe take turns making dinner. Oh, the possibilities! But (and this is a big BUT) I don’t share well. Sure I enjoy having my bed to myself here and there but not when my man is out “making it” with another chick, sister wife or not. That won’t work…..
As long as there is no domestic violence, forced marriages, underage marriages (all things that I have read about where illegal marriage happens) then I say, to each their own.
