I cannot believe what the weather has been like this weekend! We have been in the high 60’s (maybe 70’s? We were all pretty warm at the barn today) and sunny. I even had my doors open. It’s nice but it won’t last…..
This past Friday I hit the Salvation Army for their 50% off sale. Check out my loot here! I got so much for so little!! I now officially have more projects than I have time for. Someone please remind me of this later in the month when there is another storewide 50% off sale.

| I began with this. I don’t know what it is…African? Spanish? It has little mirrors embroidered into it. Such a fun embroidery job. |

| All I did here was to cut a section from the bottom of the skirt, close the bottom and added 2 pleats to each side plus a pleat on each end to gather the top. I stole the handles from the little purse below. |

| This is now a torn clutch. This will have a new use, maybe taking out the lining and stiffening the purse into a woven basket? I’ll have to figure out how to do that. If anyone knows, please tell me! |

| I really was able to get this close to them. One of the ranch guys has spread birdseed for them earlier in the day and they were all over it. The reason the ranch guy spread birdseed? These ungraceful birds were landing on top of the ranch residences and waking everyone up at 6am. He was just getting these birds off the houses….. |

>That is great fabric, and I love that you turned it into a purse. I'd have never thought to do that, but then my sewing skills are EXTREMELY limited. I do love the idea though and now will be looking (surreptitiously eyeing) at skirts in shops and on people (they'd better not turn their backs on me!), in a different way. I'll also be carrying a concealed pair of scissors. 😉
